Art Scam Hot ListAs an artist you're getting e-mails all the time some od which are from potential clients and customers genuinely interested in buying some artwork from you. Every now and then however, an e-mail comes through that you're not too sure about, it looks 'OK', but there's something about it that doesn't seem right, something about it you don't trust. The chances are you're looking at an Art Scam e-mail, an e-mail designed to play on your good nature as a business person whilst defrauding you of your hard earn't cash in the process. As you can never be 100% sure about this type of e-mail on first inspection; especially if you've never dealt with this before, you can cross check certain known and recognisable 'features'; names and e-mail address. The following lists will allow you to compare the names and personal details appearing in your e-mail with those in the lists, if they match then delete the e-mail - better still send it in and it'll go on file along with the many others artists have already sent in. If you're still not sure and you feel happy to do this, you can send the mail in and it'll get the once over and the all clear where appropriate.
